That’s no excuse, Earl. There are a lot of worthless books that will teach you nothing.

You and Sherlock, huh Earl? Got to save room for the important knowledge.

By time you get to be Earl’s age, every time you learn a new fact, you forget a fact you already knew to make room for the new one.

A lot of the time I feel that there’s so much going on in my head, that if I absorb any more it’ll screw me up completely.

Comment for strip very late. My mom abhors reading when a child in school HS students made to teach and she did not learn very well. After married not sure if I was born back then she heard a woman scold her daughter on reading putting eyes out. Back then women did not want to exercise brain. For me I do enjoy books but I notice I have issues with reading still I keep enjoying adventures. My dad did not get into reading until after he retired. My mom cannot understand why anyone would want to read instead of working on house. She is 89 and cannot do a wordsearch puzzle takes no effort. She left school by 8th grade one room school house.
