Whoa, Danae would be in sooo much trouble with me right now! A little time away from the electronics – for her insubordinate snottiness – would be in order.

Unilateral treaties are an exclusively parental prerogative, Danae.

I don’t recall having seen Danae being so openly defiant before. Yes, as DKendra mentioned, I believe that a little “electronics vacation” would definitely be in order.

“Can’t seem to understand about the simple human trait of “suspended disbelief.” Look it up sometime and button your mandibles on this, ok?”-————————————————————————

What was that you were saying about being condescending and internet etiquette?

And suspending disbelief was exactly my point.

“Your point was to ignore it.”-———————————————————

You mean like how you ignored my point about your hypocrisy?

There’s a difference, a rather sizable one, between suspending disbelief for the enjoyment of a piece of fiction and in believing a comic strip character is an actual person and reading a cartoon literally. I personally find it disconcerting and even a bit disturbing, and posted a rather soft note about it. You, on the other hand, launched into a self-righteous diatribe about it, finishing off with a personal attack. If you’re going to admonish someone for what you perceive as poor etiquette, it’s always a good idea to not do the same thing in the very next sentence of your admonishing post.

I have the right to my opinion, as do you. You can disagree with that opinion and can do so without being disagreeable.

Maybe Danae should have gone to Las Vegas; after all, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!”.Oh, that’s right… she is just a kid, and this is just a comic strip.

Hello, I am Mr. Old Fashioned……I vote that Danae have a meeting with the hand of authority and spend the net 60 minutes contemplating what she has done to deserve the hand of authority whilst sitting in the corner of shame.

While Danae is a cartoon character, her attitude and behavior to her parent and peers is more prevalent than the good Dr. presumes. At a restaurant recently, I had a strong desire to speak to the child in the booth behind us who was lessening the dining experience for his mother, grandfather, and those nearby. His arrogance, rudeness, and selfishness was painful to witness. He, like Danae, has trained his parent well to believe it is easier to tolerate his abusiveness than to deal with it head on. It doesn’t require corporal punishment, as some here suggest, but it does require a consistent and firm policy that puts the parent in charge and teaches the child respect. That said… Non Sequitur would not be the same without Danae as Danae and I look forward to the day that her “step mother to be” comes back. She and Danae’s sister are very creative and entertaining in how they deal with her.Good to see you, NG.Respectfully,C.
