Pros & cons of extended warranties: good if you want to save money. Bad if you want your product repaired quickly (such as a refrigerator) and have to wait a week while the processing goes on to get the repairman there. Have had 2 cases: one about a refrigerator ( lost our perishable food), the other a washing machine (had to go to the laundramat—and spend money). Biggest gripe: inconvenience.
In fact in the UK the “extended warranty” is an attempt by retailers to extract more money while ignoring legal responsibilities to sell goods that are fit to last their expected lifespan and replace or repair those which do not.
