The Blog: FYI, my avatar is a picture of Tesla surrounded by one of his experiments in high frequency/high voltage electricity.
A fascinating biography is Tesla: Man Out of Time, by Margaret Cheney. Just reading about his inventions is like reading science fiction.
He was a brilliant man, but some of his money problems were of his own doing. Thomas Edison once cheated him out of a several thousand dollar bonus: big money at the turn of the 20th century.
Small quibble: The IEEE wasn’t formed until the 60s. The text should read either IRE or AIEE, the two organizations that merged to form the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
Picky, I know. Thanks, Teresa, for a really interesting post. Not as much fun as the Watusi a Go Go, but of more lasting interest.
Heh, looks like some of the postcards I used to create many moons ago. Worked then & it still works now. It’s why I appreciate this non-strip. Thanks, Teresa.
just south of St. Joseph… nice to see the strip (and blog) getting back to it’s “core” humor… juxtaposition of the nude and the absurd… of course, most of us are absurd, when nude….

With Mr. Goodbar, the landings and take-offs are the most dangerous part of the whole trip. Once you’re at cruising altitude, it’s smooth sailing.
