Bring me my hammer. I wanna play Whack-a-Mole. Or maybe, since Broomie is green, Guac-a-Mole.
According to both Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary and MEXonline.com, the name of the dish “mole” has nothing to do with the Spanish words for “soft” or “pulverize”, or anything else, adjective, noun, or verb. It comes from the pre-Columbian Nahuatl word “milli/molli/mulli”, meaning “sauce” or “concoction.”
bald716, I hear the CIA advertising constantly on Live 365. I’m not sure why they think people who listen to the Internet all the time would be good… prospects… Ohhh.
Sorry, Joe, but fritzoid is right. No Spanish dictionary worth its salt would connect “mole” sauce with the verb “moler” - the spelling similarity is mere coincidence. The native Indians were making mole sauce, and calling it that, long centuries before the Spanish ever came to Mexico. I have that on an excellent authority myself: an authoritative book on Mexican cooking, which I read years ago.
You’ve been out-know-it-all’d… and about time, too. (There are some things about your partial knowledge of Biblical Hebrew and biblical background that I’d like to say along similar lines, but that’s for another day.) Admit you’re wrong for once and go on.

Maybe she thought that “Mole” was an abbreviation for “Molester”; I can see her applying for a hands-on job like that.

It seems the Chthonic Insectivores’ Association is having a membership drive.
Odd that they’re only looking for one, though…

I think the position of Director is already filled.
