Doctor 1: Really? She's the very last orphan out? Girl: Yup-- and that makes me special! Doctor 1: Well, she looks healthy, but I"ll have to check her out. Doctor 2: Fine. By the way-- her new parents are waiting in the other room. Doctor 1: Tell them I should be through in about twenty minutes. Doctor 2: Right. Doctor 1: Okay, princess, now don't be scared. Girl: You better not hurt me-- I'm a symbol, you know!!

Don’t worry, the doctor doesn’t want any bad publicity.

Just a word … OK, a lot of words, I guess …. to those who want to read the whole Doonesbury saga, without skipping through like these re-runs do…
The complete archive IS there… it just looks like you can’t go back very far.
Click the little calendar, then the drop down menu of years. Click what looks like earliest year you can reach.
Give it a second to refresh whatever month is showing of that year, and click the drop-down arrow again. Repeat.By waiting each time for the list to refresh, you should be able to get all the way back to Oct of 1970, and the very first strip.
As far as I know, all members can reach all the archives…I don’t think it’s part of being Pro.
But if it IS…. to me it’s worth a dollar a month.
Compared to buying books or newspapers ..?
BTW … No one has ever answered when I’ve asked whether Pro membership is available outside the US, in other currencies. I hope so!

A more direct method to old strips is to use the left arrow that is left of the calendar button. That takes you back one day. Now look at your URL address bar.http://www.gocomics.com/doonesbury/2014/06/16The numbers are a date: year/month/dayJust type in the date you want and hit the Enter key.I put in 1975 for 2014 and viola. Back in time.

As long as we’re time-tripping, try a little Odd Bodkins while yer at it!

Fortunately, as Kim grew up, she appears to have grown out of that full-of-herself attitude. Not that she’s ever been a fully-developed character. I would like to have seen more of her over the years.

Thanks for the tip, Susan! I was out of the country in the early seventies, and missed all of these. Seems like I need to take a day off and catch up.

I thought about that picture, think napalm had scorched her.

Actually there were several symbols listed I dislike so it wasn’t a bias for, rather a mention of.

And of course, ‘Last One Out’ doesn’t include the many thousands who booked it, on any transport available; look up ‘Boat People’, which includes Cambodians and Laotians trying to flee their local horrors…
