I’ve used that and ROTFLMAO, as well….but, really, as far as I know, these are not etched in stone!! People who use these abbreviations play fast and loose with language anyway. There are no hard and fast rules. And, yes…Gilligan did have to explain this joke. He knows that many of us are not up on canine texting! And, finally, I was ROTFLMAO at this! I DO use definite articles (TY, pcolli) and I found today’s strip very funny!
But, as they say, “Chacun à son goût.” (Each to his own taste.)
I hope you get that fixed, Doh ……you’d be missing out on a lot, especially at a place like Ballard St.!!! I’m glad my post made it in just under the wire, so you could see it!
“looks totally from scratch; Google couldn’t find a match”♪♫ (Did you intend to rhyme that, or was that just serendipity?? lol)
You probably did run across Linda (aka Wet & Soggy in the last few months) at some point…
To tell you the truth, I really haven’t been too inspired to do any pictures for a couple weeks…like the well had run dry…but yesterday, it just popped into my head!
Then, one attempt at a newspaper text generator caused everything to freeze up on the PC. I thought it was the browser I was on (MSN), because that happens periodically, so I switched over to IE and did the whole thing again, and STILL everything froze when I clicked “done”. At this point, I decided to do my own “newspaper”!
Anyway, I started at 8 am and finished it a little after 4 pm, breaking to fix and eat lunch, answer a few emails, and do some laundry. I almost trash-canned it more than once! That’s why I decided to post it again today…it took longer that I usually like to devote to doing this sort of thing. I’m surprised that I kept on with it! LOL
I’m glad you liked it! BTW, I posted “Scent of a Cat” on 4/17 and “Pooch Café Story” on 6/16. I decided to use them, because both are at the top of my list of favorite pictures that I’ve done.
@StelBel: thanks for this newspaper. I laughed at all he stories and blurbs. ( BTW: I wasn’t posting here for the longest time, and then realized that this thing logs itself out automatically if you don’t post, so then I forgot my password… ) I’m also your greatest fan, and appreciate the added panel or touch to the Pooch Café..The modesty strip in this past week’s story kept me in stitches every day. When I thought of it sometimes during the day, and smirked, my husband was wondering what was so funny and I just had to show him your work…
Ruth was Linda’s very best friend who posted on line for Linda during the time that she was so sick in the hospital. During that time, she got to know a lot of the commenters here, and decided to stay with GoComics after Linda died last weekend, and in memory of Linda, just added her name to Linda’s user name.
If you scroll down the tribute page (the link you left above), the 3rd comment after nighthawks’s cartoon basset hound, Cleo, is a long comment from Ruth with more details about the friendship that they shared for so many years.
All in all, it’s been pretty sad. Linda just turned 62 this past January, but complications that she had from MS sapped her strength to be able to fight off other illnesses, and this last bout with pneumonia was the final straw.

So there is no definite article in your vocabulary?

Great comic. I was definitely LOLing. I don’t ROTFL anymore as it is too hard to get back up. Again, STEL, love The Pooch Cafe Times.

A great source for such things is the Urban Dictionary.

Not to mention that dogs can’t text. Or laugh.
