Duke: When I asked why it was so popular, I was told, "Better read than dead." Honey: (The joke has been made, and he will be expecting you to laugh at it. Go wild.) Crowd: Ha ha ha ha hee hee ho! Duke: But seriously, folks, I'm tickled pinko to be here tonight.

I can think of a few times, when I could have used someone with her talents. Oh well, unemployment is usually temporary.

Agree! I’ve always loved the way her face is drawn, the blank glasses versus what she is saying.

There was a story that just after the war, Eisenhower was speaking to a crowd in Japan with a translator. In the middle of his speech, he told a joke, which took a little while to tell. The translator said just a few words and the crowd laughed.
After the speech, he asked the translator how he had told the joke so quickly. The translator responded “The General has told a joke. Please laugh.”
