It’s funny. I gave up eating beef long before mad cow disease hit the country, but then I started eating it again while everyone was afraid of it.

Wait. That’s when farmers and ranchers were losing so much money that the price of beef plummeted. Uh-oh. My reasoning may have been different than I thought it was.

I remember well when the outbreak and panic started up here in Canada. Cattle prices at auction plummeted as U.S. exports were banned. What was funny though is that the price of beef didn’t fall here at all. Apparently the food industry still thought we were still part of the New York City market and should pay the same as New Yorkers.

A couple states where they produce a LOT of Beef made it Illegal to talk about Mad Cow Disease.

That’s one way to “cure” it.
