You can parse the population into two groups, those that can handle being away from home, ie, more than an hour or two drive, for more than a couple days, and those that can’t…..
Well, I am relieved he’s not a scumbag. If the relationship has to disintegrate (and I suppose, it had to for the comic strip), I’d rather it be because he’s a baby.

Maybe Monsieur Smokey does represent what Mona really wants in a–oh wait, this is a comic strip. Disregard that.
