Transcript:
Marigold: I too had braces as a little filly.
Phoebe: You do have nice teeth!
Marigold: Oh, not on my teeth. But I had horn braces for several years. I spent many an hour with my hornthodontist.
Phoebe: That is totally not a word.
@ R.U. Kidding — Thank you for Ringo’s name the other day. I didn’t see it or yesterday’s until today, but wanted to thank you for the reply. Hope you get this.
it is hard to tell when Marigold is honest or if she’s making up stuff. Also i love the way Sue’s face looks in this. just eyes rolling up at the unicorn, moth not fully smiling.
Well, for whatever it’s worth, the correct word would be “orthocerist”. “Hornthodontist”, though lovely in its way, translates as someone who uses horn instruments to check whether your teeth are [ ]mal.
Martin Mull used to be on a show called “Fernwood 2Night” and later “America 2Night”. Mull played a talk show host named Barth Gimble, and sometimes he had a guest who wore a brace from a “chin-odontist”.

Couldn’t like, just pull it straight after you woke in the morning?

Orthocornist?
I wonder if her horn is naturally that sharp, or if she gets cornicures.

If Marigold uses it, it’s a word.

Yes, but “ortho” is Greek. If you mix Greek and Latin, something will come down the chimney and GET you.
