Alice’s nonchalant attitude makes me laugh, and her suggestions -as if Petey has a choice- are very imaginative. I love that kid!

NOT Alice’s toys!! - she was SO worried about a werewolf acting like a dog and chewing them up. Women worry more about their shoes (as in SITC). My cockatoo chewed on some of my favs;-( but I still wish she had not died…

It’s not Peanuts, and we should be glad.

Correct, mancocapac. Peanuts was arguably the best and certainly one of the most significant, influential, and enduring comic strips in the history of the medium, and attempts to imitate it are futile and backwards-looking.

Like Peanuts, Cul de Sac is more often character-driven than gag-driven, but while he certainly works upon certain foundations that were lain by Charles Schulz and other past masters, Richard Thompson no more imitates what went before than Schulz was an imitation of his own precursors.

Fritzoid Having grown up with Peanuts, I must agree. In the short time I’ve been reading this strip, I’d have to say it’s the best strip since, without trying to imitate it.

Hey folks, I meant that I’m glad it isn’t “Peanuts”! No dog lying on his doghouse, no pumpkin patch; no foolery with a football no neurotic scab picking.

Exactly, Munodi. We’re all agreeing with you. Peanuts did Peanuts to perfection, and there’s no need for Cul de Sac to be an imitation.

No you wont Petey, you have to jump those picky eater ranks, chewing on toys aren’t going to help with that.
