Another **** Mammal. Song by Jenner. To the tune of on Another Brick In The Wall by Pink FloydYou don’t need no explanation. You don’t need no thought recall. No expectation for the future. You ain’t got no rights at all.Hey, creature! Feet against the wall! All in all, you’re just another frickin’ mammal. All in all, you’re just another frickin’ mammal.
The dittos are the rub, aye. I’m actually surprised the reptilians have their own version of Prof Mallard with enough knowledge to be capable of controlling them. Still, Wally’s recognizing their sentience and treating them with respect will be the key to escape (and possibly forment a revolution to boot).
These guys are messed up. That one guy that was telling Sarah all about how good and ordered they are? Yeah, it’s a lie, one I fear he’s actually bought himself.
@Darwinskeeper – You actually are surprised they think the brain is useful? These reptillians can not only control Dittos, they apparently don’t even bat an eye to the fact others can too. So either Dittos are very easy to control (unlikely, even their creator couldn’t do so in the end), or the reptilians have their own genius Prof Mallard scientist guy who’s disseminated that knowledge to at least one other rival mutant group.…Which is extremely interesting, since even Prof Mallard couldn’t do so without using Al’s original Dittos as a control group – and most of us bystanders believe Al to be something of a Deus Ex Machina to begin with.
Soooo…. the lizard feels his honor has been lost by losing to a Cat, and he feels that someone else killing the cat will restore it. I don’t think so, let’s have a battle to the death between the two, winner takes all.
I’m going along with the theory that Lizard Women are few and far between and there aren’t enough to go around, which makes Sarah special to them…proves nothing, as my track record for plot prediction has been woefully wrong, particularly during the Flask-and-Marx encounter session.
They Only Had a Brain. Song by JennerTo the tune of on If I Only Had a Brain by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harberg, from The Wizard of Oz.Oh, we like the folk who wanderFrom somewhere over yonderAnd into our domain. Here’s some good information:They’d have reached their destinationIf they’d only took the train. Well, we front up, nice and heartyTo ev’ry walkin’ partyAnd welcome them, real plain. But the greetin’ would be fleetin’,A retreatin’ they’d be beatin’If they only had a brain. Oh, then we took them to A clean and comfy cell,To feed on someone else’s egg and shell.A travesty of legal hell. So, we didn’t ask their blessin’sTo pilfer their possessions – We figured they’d abstain. In the pile we did pilferWe expected gold and silverBut they only had a brain.
If Pitor woos Sarah, or make a proposition she can’t say no to, then when she lays an egg she may find her motherly instincts kick in. If she lays an egg that would become a, reptile, or whatever, and if she can’t stand the thought of it being someone’s lunch, then she could be their ticket out.Very unlikely, but you never know.
I’m tempted to say “go back to the beginning” (1/19/09) and read from there. Going through the whole thing may seem daunting, but its a good story and you’ll get to experience it one strip to the next which is the best way to read any comic.Still, if you just want to know about the dittos, you could start at 7/17/09, which is where Al & Gustine (the original protagonists) ran into them. Wally and Holly first meet them on an ill fated rocket mission starting on 1/30/12. I’m just giving you the beginning dates as you will have to go through quite a few strips to really understand about them. The simple answer is that dittos are living pixel creatures that can be used to create illusions. They can behave as a sort of perfect “adaptive camoflage” to render objects (or people) invisible. They can also recreate scenes from people’s memories. They cannot (however) create sound. They also have some degree of intelligence, though how much is unknown, and can “read” minds. Wally had obtained some of these dittos from Professor Mallard (the strip’s resident omnidisciplinary scientist) who obtained them from a character named Aaron Marx. Please, don’t ask me to explain Aaron Marx.

The only way he’ll get his “honour satisfied” (=revenge) is if they make it an unfair fight heavily weighted against Wally.

The bandages indicate the cat walked away just fine the first time.

Interesting that they know about the dittoes, they just want their pound of flesh.

Give him a knife, give Wally a knife, and let them work out their issue of honor themselves. (I’d put my money on the cat.)

I’d love it if they were just like. Nobody asked you cook, no one likes you. but I doubt that’s how it’s going to be

What exactly is so special about Sarah, other than maybe her potential to lay eggs? What will she bring to the.. er, battle?

Anyone who beats a child, especially when that child was following orders, has no honour.…But if he wants to get his tail handed back to him so badly…

By the way, what’s the deal with all the plastic containers with the familiar triangle-and-circle logo and the two-letter three-digit product codes?
