Hey, Margueritem. Sorry for your ailment. My father had it and it was extremely painful for him. For those that aren’t aware, anyone who has had chicken pox at some point in their life is like 10 times more likely to contract shingles, usually somewhere in their late 40’s to early 70’s. However, there is a vaccine available. Don’t know if it’s annual or how often, but worth the time, cost and effort. Check with your physician or pharmacist. Don’t know if it can help someone already contracted with it.
OBLIO Sure looks like an Eagle, Globe, and Anchor to me. Semper Fi! Now the Navy, they’re like a floating Checker Cab who taxi-es the Corps around the world.
Lewreader. I was 3rd Marines, 1970-74. My Dad was Navy, Pacific Theater, WWII, 1942-46. My Dad (RIP) always claimed that the Marine Corps was a department of the Navy. I always told him, “Yeah. The Men’s Department!”. I have my glasses on, but sometimes it helps to have a seeing eye commentator.
Thanks
According to the VA Doctors where I received my vaccine for the Shingles, it only work about 50 percent of the time. Well guess what! It did not work on me, I still get an break out of the shingles every now and again. So, i always keep my pills on hand for when that happens.
I think it’s supposed to be how long it really took to build rome, from its founding to its height as a world center of power. Most people say about 500 years.
The only constant in the universe is the bureaucratic mentality…just like in our time, any government project is bound to run over budget and over time…
Thanks for all the sympathy and advice about the vaccine. Shingles will be one of the most painful things you’ve ever experienced if you should be so unfortunate as to get it. Your nerves endings fire at will, causing a terrible pain. Your skin develops a rash that blisters up all along your nerve paths. This time it developed on the left side of my neck up to my ear. When I had it forty years ago, it developed on the upper right side of my torso.

I’ve wondered for many years why they taught us Roman numerals in grade school. They must have foreseen this day.

Are you serious? Everyone knows they taught us Roman numerals so we would know the dates they created all of the old Looney Toon cartoons and movies.

I thought we were taught Roman numerals so we’d know which Super Bowl our beloved Saints just won. WHODAT!!!
