    Rick Detorie must be from the older generation. I have yet to receive a thank you note from any person under 30. Sad to see the older customs fade.

    I and my sister never received a gift from any of our grandparents at that age. My dad’s parent’s lived in OK, my mom’s parent lived in SW KS about 2 hours away. All are gone.

    If the parents don’t teach their kids social etiquette we lose certain traditions. I’m 60 and notice a lot of adults in my age group or so don’t have much respect for tradition or authority. The fall of Rome is near.

    Myrna Loy was the model for the statute of a naked nymph outside Venice High School in Venice, CA. My aunt Myrna went to school there.
