Down on my uncle’s farmette, I used to chase the chickens and ducks but I found out the geese stood their ground.

We had a couple of ducks. The kids would bend over to give the ducks a shot at their butts. Most of the time the ducks were not interested.

The second reaction is the best one. Nasty beasts, geese. I bet they have a bet with swans to see which can pinch the most people in a day.

when attacking others the goose is “misunderstood”; when attacking you, they’re just “mean”!

When my daughter was two, the neighborhood ducks would sometimes intimidate her, so she roared at them. I have a picture of her in full roar.

Read a story online where a kid was harassing some female geese sitting on nests and the gander came up and bit him on the rear. Kid was told he should take it as a lesson about what happens if you mess with somebody’s old lady.

Ruthie, it is called getting goosed. Humans can do that to each other too.

Geese, just like swans(who I have seen attacking boats) are territorial, especially when they have a nest or chicks to care for

I am told that by my brother, who experienced this, that a goose will bite you with it’s serrated bill, then twist its head upside down to rip out a chunk of flesh.

That happened to me when we were in Germany on a Volksmarch. As I was passing by a great big goose struck at me like a snake, didn’t bite, just a big poke and left a big bruise on my butt!!
