Oh wow, haven’t thought about Skat in years. My grandma taught me and we spent many an hour at her kitchen table playing it. Then after a few years I graduated to gin rummy and the hours didn’t stop. Such great memories. Would love to be able to play cards with her again.

I learned several card games as a kid, but never learned Skat. I heard of it, but no one I knew actually knew how to play.

Scat. Never heard of it. Then again, I was taught how to play Pinochle when I was about 8.

No wonder Ruthie misunderstood. Never heard of that card game, I think learned pitch and forgotten how that was done.
