The teachers are too busy complaining about the rug-rats in their classes. I’ll wager more than one decided to quit teaching and take a job loading dynamite!

Up until the fourth grade, I thought teachers lived at school too! Which is weird, because we knew my first grade teacher, and she went to our church.

Right James. That is some wild creative imagination you have there. Ruthie is right. Teachers dont live in the teachers lounge. Just dont be surprise if any of the teachers catch you peeking in there. I feel sorry for you.

Oh yes. The teacher’s lounge. The one place (beside the boiler room) where kids were never, ever allowed to tread. I was in there one time, and one time only, because I was sent on an errand to fetch a teacher from there. But I was quickly shooed away once my message was delivered. The reason they gave me was that they openly discussed “student issues” that I wasn’t supposed to be privy to. But the place reeked of coffee and cigarettes* so I suspect there were other reasons as well.

*This was back when smoking was permitted on school grounds in certain designated areas.
