From house.gov: “The President, Vice President and all Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
Really? since when… Presidents, Govenors as well as many others that were elected, have been impeached by the house and subsequently tried for crimes by the senate, then depending on the trial… either removed from office or left to continue their terms. No, I don’t need to explain, but I will provide a hint as to where to find it – “impeachment”.
If we’re going to start impeaching government officials let’s get our priorities in order. First would be the right wing of the “Supreme Court”. This will go down as the worst court in history and a charge of treason shouldn’t be too hard to prove. Next Boner and the Republicans for dereliction of duty. They will have worked a total of 168 days this year and have voted against ACA over 40 times even though they have no constitutional authority to do so. I would call this reason for removal.
@grimm509 Name me two bills the house has passed without attaching a poison pill to it. I mean a clean bill with no provisions that would harm the middleclass or veterans and would not enrich the ubber wealthy. I know you don’t want to hear this stuff, but sticking your fingers in your ears and going lalalalalalalal.will not change anything.
It’s irrelevant if they were junk bills. They can add amendments to the bills to make them non-junk. The current Senate has passed the least amount of bills in decades.
@grim509 I like your thinking. Simple and uncluttered with minutia. Just Fox and Limburgers talking points. That’s good. This way you don’t have to think for yourself.
Can any of the CDLs here cite any Obama policy, or anything done by the democrat congress between Jan 3 2007 and Jan 2 2011 that has not damaged the economy or America’s standing in the world. If republicans had any spine they would be talking about impeachment, but so far it is mostly democrats floating that idea. (And, as is always the case with democrats, disingenuously.)
Admittedly, sometimes, fewer bills are better. But it’s disingenuous to call the Republicans the do nothings, when it’s actually been the Democrats in the Senate that have done even less.
Every bill is fixable. That’s why they have debate and amendments to bills.

Let’s see some charges! Some evidence of high crimes and treason. Don’t have any? Quelle surprise.

In other words, yes, senators CAN be impeached.

@grimm509 I should have added meaningful bills. Of course I have a feeling that you and I have a different definition for “meaningful”

I’ll remember that next time I see you bash Fox News. (And no, I don’t watch Fox News or any cable news programs for that matter)
