Sounds like dealing with my husband, when he says he’s coming home or going to do something in “a while” I always ask him whose “while” are we talking about; mine (less than an hour) or his (less than three days)?
It’s funny how time perception changes as you age. When you’re young, time seems so long, and drags by but when you’re older it’s so fleeting! I remember being 15 and thinking “ugh, 30’s so old” and my mom who was 35 seemed ancient. Now, I’m 36, and it seems like 50 is just around the corner. It’s funny how it changes.
I just know that I went to bed last night, was 17, and Dwight Eisenhower was president. I woke up this morning, looked in the mirror and saw this old retired woman and heard on the news that Obama is president!

I feel your pain …
Though I wish i could have slept through the Carter years !
Isn’t it strange that it takes soo long to reach High school then in a blink your going back for a reunion .
Elly should teach Michael to make simple meals - for example, a cheese sandwich (grilled?). He shouldn’t have to be so completely dependent on her when he is hungry.
When my son was little he had a drawer in the frige that had snacks for him. He could have them anytime he wanted. If he was hungry he would just get something. I never had trouble with him eating dinner.
In fact, one evening, I had left him with the neighbors while I ran an errand. When I got home he was playing out side. I made dinner for myself knowing that he had eaten with the neighbors.
He came in and ate most of my dinner explaining that he was very hungry and had not eaten dinner. I checked with the neighbors because he had spaghetti sauce and gravy on the front of his shirt. I found out that he had eaten two dinners at two different neighbor’s houses shortly before I got home.
He could really burn off the food, running around and riding his bike.
I was born in 1962,
JFK was President in short time and then, was assassinated in TX.
LBJ took over JFK’s President
RMNixon was President and then, he resigned.
Gerald Ford took over Nixon’s President.
Jimmy Carter was President.
Ronald Reagan was President and was almost assassinated but he was alive safely.
GHW Bush was President.
WJ Clinton was President.
GW Bush was President.
Currently, Barack Obama is President.
I feel like I am getting too old already. I am only 48. Ugh!
Wildmustang1262: Add Truman and Eisenhower to that list for me. Just thinking about Truman being president when I was born makes me feel old. I feel like I’m on a downhill slope and accelerating all the time. I KNOW I just moved into this house, and it’s been 3 1/2 years! My son should be just post-adolescence, and he’s almost 33. It’s just not RIGHT.
Ya, give him something to tide him over. Why is everything so hard for this woman to deal with? It’s as if the kid was never hungrey at dinner time before. She has no idea what to do. Her expressions even show it..
Maybe a cooky!! If he’s hungry now, he’s hungry now – give him something to eat or direct him to something suitable. I’m a grazer, I eat all the time and I’m very uncomfortable if I have to wait a long time. I would imagine it is even harder for a 6-year-old.

As I’ve come close to 30, it seems that I just went to be on New Years Eve, and it’s already the Resurrection of Jesus Christ!

I agree with Susan001. Michael could snack on something healthy to tide him over to dinner.

Elly let him have apple slices with peanut butter. It’s a wonderful snack.

I was going to say give him a cookie, but I knew I’d get hammered for it.
Lindz, I’ve been reading your comments on all the comics, and I really can’t see where you and I disagree. At all.
