hey richard, whats a colonoscopy got to do with cholesterol? just thought i’d point out, you’re going to the wrong doctor. can’t find out anything about cholesterol by shoving something up your………

But if it wasn’t for the colonoscopies, Richard wouldn’t have any fun at all!

Your triglycerides matter more. That’s the fat in your blood.

Doesn’t matter anyway. There’s nothing you can do about it. I knew a skinny little lady who survived on saltless saltines and tons of cholesterol medicine. Her cholesterol was high no matter what, and she died. She should have had some buffalo wings and a stick of butter and enjoyed herself. She got the same results.

So what’s really better? Dropping quickly from a massive heart attack, or being diagnosed a few years later with pancreatic cancer (while your cholesterol is “good”) and taking a pain-filled year or so to die? Or maybe one of the “lucky” ones, ending up in a home, getting your diaper changed (hopefully) a couple times a day and trying to remember who those people are that visit you from time to time? As someone once said, there’s only one way off this planet, and we’re all going to take it…I can see younger people taking care, but at this stage, I am NOT giving up my BBQed steak, my baked potato with butter and sour cream, eggs fried in bacon grease, etc. Nuts to my cholesterol - I’ll go out with a beer in one hand and some pork rinds in the other.

Ushindi, have you considered Prozac? No Cholesterol and it supposedly improves the view of life.

The colonscopy isn’t bad. It’s blowing brain matter out of your rear the night before I didn’t care for.

Were colonoscopies, cholesterol, Prozac, cancer, heart attacks, etc. issues people were concerned about 60 years ago?

    gillbill - I love it!

    John Pike -

“It ain’t the years, it’s the mileage…” - Indiana Jones in Raiders Of The Lost Ark

Ushindi - Most people with pancreatic cancer only last about 3-4 months.

Someday, we’re all going to have to stand before God and, among other things, give an account for how badly we’ve taken care of the body He gave us. Thank you, God, for inventing and providing forgiveness through Jesus!
