My mother has been gone for ten years this coming September; ’twas a two-year cancer battle. Dad remarried three years later and it has been a good seven years this coming November.
The seven second delay is designed to prevent just that problem. Unfortunately, for most of us (Guys) that delay only works at the end instead of the front of our utterances.
Paul told us that we will be with Jesus at the moment of our death. I do not believe that anyone who is in love with God will want to take the time to look back on this broken world. We’ll be too busy worshiping, loving and rejoicing.
My 82 year old dad and 79 year old mom are still around, but not particularly enjoying their golden years (as they often remind me), mainly due to poor health on top of life’s trials and tribulations. However, I always put up with whatever they dish out by simply reminding myself that the days will come when the grousing will come to an irreversible end and I will still be sad.

Still August 26 here — mother’s birthday (96) . She’s been gone over 39 years — and I still miss her.

She always looked down on us before, why would she change now?

It’s only nosy if it is unwelcome. From Opal’s view, it is Motherly concern.

When I go , there will be no being nosy. it’s hard looking up and I’ll be too busy with all my friends,

Unless, of course, she’s looking up at them…
