Back in the 70’s I remember a magazine that promoted organic farming however back then the buzz word was eco-friendly. Plows pulled by horses, fertilizer supplied by horses, long stem grass fed to horses. In today’s lingo it now would referred to as craft farming.
When I was a kid we had wallpaper with a pattern of cherry’s. My dad would go to the store and buy cherry’s , and make me believe he was picking them off the wall.
Dad was running a tractor-pulled brush cutter through a weed patch one time, and out the back came a clump of feathers! The hen had nested in the weed patch!Fortunately, no wheel went over the nest and the eggs were put under another hen in the hen house.
Nah, meat’s not too expensive, not as long as some are willing to pay the price..Nonetheless, we who eat meat appreciate those who keep the price down for us by eating more grass and leaving the good stuff for us to eat.

I’m reminded of “Wall-E”, when the captain talks about farming, where they grow food…like, pizza.

I tried raising chickens but the first year was a disaster. The US Agriculture Inspector said I planted them too close together.
