Until I went to a certain area of this country a while back and saw a Sonic I would not have understood the reference. Unless it was something about the fracking of dinosaurs from B.C. time.

I don’t think Sonic is an international chain so this may not sense to every one. They do seem to be expanding so that would account for the “boom”

Yeah, but they won’t “boom” up here. :( I loved the Sonic we went to when we visited my husband’s family in SC.)

@A Common TaterSonic is a Drive-in restaurant like in the 50’s where the customers can stay in the car and the servers bring the food out to the car after it was ordered over an intercom system. It serves the basic Americana food, burgers, fries, hotdogs, cream sodas and floats.

I was thinking (which I have been told that I have to much time on my hands to do that) that a Sonic Boom would when the school teacher informed the students that they have turn off their music apps on their smartphones and pay attention to the lesson.

In 1965 I was home on leave from Vietnam in the Oklahoma City area. I was visiting some friends when out of nowhere there was a very loud “BOOM”. I hit the deck, wondering what was going on. It turned out to be that the USAF was testing the effects of sonic booms on civilians and their houses. Sort of embarrassing, but my friends got a good laugh out of it.

I see Sonic and Carl’s ads all the time. Neither are in my area.

Whereas I typed sonic on the search bar and “America’s drive-in” was the first offering. Are you SURE you know to Google? If not, Google it to find out how.

Sonic’s commercials are better than the experience.

“plants” not “pants” that would be TOO weird..If soda to you is baking soda, that’s hunky dory, just as long as you don’t try to confuse normal people...Whenever I hear a BOOM, I tend to assume someone’s playing with explosives or some kid down out of NAS Pensacola is playing with his jet.

@A Common ’taterAs you have pointed out, Observer already answered your question, so I figured it was playtime..I’m extremely proud of my humility.. As to how to not be an idiot, it WILL be good when they actually CAN fix “stupid” but until then I’m stuck with what I am.
