Actually I like the sounds of the swamp. We live on a small lake. In good weather, we sleep with the windows open. There are all kinds of critters making noise all night long, including birds who start in just before sunrise.
It’s a great sound to fall asleep to. My son who came to visit, didn’t think so. He said, “How can you sleep; it sounds like a jungle out there?”
Mockingbirds here in AZ have the most lovely creative repertoires. When they give me a particularly nice long concert, I always try to reward them with extra grapes tossed out on my patio (they, and other nice birds, really enjoy any ripe grapes). In this weather, I only hear the birds when I’m outside, but I LOVE the cooler weather when I can hear them from first light.

I had an African Grey that LOVED coffee, but I’d only let her have 2 sips. She was always trying to get to my cup of coffee. :)
