Aaah, Lu’s got him good! What a kidder! – ….or is she?….. – Either way, it’ll be some more good practice for Brad…

Somehow I can’t imagine Brad looking at purses and shoes for two hours… ;)

he could offer to “go with me to do fun stuff for both of us” or “do fun things for both of you, you and Toni”, or “do half day with me, the other half with Toni”

“… I am trying to remember at least one comic strip where Brad played games, rode go-karts or played golf. I thought his favorite thing to do was to work on his car….” ^Don’t be so surprised! It’s just that he can only do it, one panel at a time…. (X^D)

Oh, yawnnnn! Made Lasagna this afternoon after walking through the raindrops with IS Katie. (It was a Skillet Lasagna, really good!) Do you suppose Brad would take Luann to a televised cooking show? At any rate, I’m really, Really tired…so, ’nite all for right now! See you later on in the day! Have a good one!-———————————————————————————“Well, Mr. Baldwin! this is a pretty kettle of fish!” [The abdication crisis, 1936] (Queen Mary, 1867-1953)

Think of comics in a different time stream. What is 29 years to us is only 18 in the Luannaverse.^^5 years actually… 13 to 18
Mikeyj about 10 years ago
Do adult siblings actually GO on “playdates”??? Do child siblings do so? You may have guessed, I only have a brother, never had any sisters.
Mikeyj about 10 years ago
@Editman
they’re kind of old for all of that kid stuff, eh? But then I am an only child^^I’m 53 and I still love doing them both. (Go karts and Mini-Golf)

When we were in our 20’s, my brother and I drove halfway across the country just to visit some cousins, just for the fun of doing something together. This past winter, we met up across the country to go to a relatives wedding and stayed together at a resort. Our spouses were busy.

I have never underststood why some women want to drag their “menfolk” to things that they hate. Usually these are the same women who wouldn’t sit and watch a sports event with their guy under any circumstances. I’m a woman, and I’d rather watch a football game than look at shoes and purses and then watch a sappy movie any day.

THERE, You SEE, Brado?
Luann REALLY Wants to Do Boring “Girl Stuff” Like (Shudder) “Looking and (Gag) Shopping!!!”
Just WAIT. By the Time Lu has Looked at Several Thousand Pairs of Shoes and Asked YOU for the Thousandth and Eleventh Time “Aren’t These CUTE?” You’ll Wished to GAW that You Had Brought Her a Gift Card, Charged that Sucker up to $300, Surrendered It to Her Fearfully and then Ran for Your Life!
Remember THAT when Your Bride – To – Be DRAGS You Kicking and Screaming Toward the Nearest Mall and BE WARNED…..,

(big, furry-faced grin) Wonderfully funny today! Excellent drawings.
TORAD_07 about 10 years ago
Ah, but careful Lu… there’s a flaw in that plan.
If you go for all the “lady” stuff, you risk losing your “financing” for the whole day!
I’d go with the “go carts.” ;-PPP

One of the best tv commercials of all time – the hidden “man cave” inside the woman’s clothing display at the mall so hubbies/boyfriends could escape shopping hell

Play your brother! Fun day, Lu!!!
jonescientific about 10 years ago
No offense, but I really liked the Luan-starting-to-college theme and I hope they can get back to that soon.

Yes, the considerate young woman who threw a fit when her boyfriend wasn’t spending every moment of every day with her.

Hope he does it, wish I would of done it with my sister before she pass away.

Victoria’s Secret is the worst. Just pray there is at least one other dragged-in-and-then-abandoned guy there to talk football or cars with until the “weaker sex” (yeah, right……..) finishes her shopping/dreaming.

“In Internet slang, a troll is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal.”
With the deliberate attempt to upset other readers, me sharing my opinion is just that. My opinion, if it upsets you that is not my problem. My dislike of the hero worship and plots is just that, my own thoughts. Just like your like of Luann is yours.
TheLiam about 10 years ago
Dave, you keep saying trolling but I don’t think you know what it actually means. Though way to take the high road with personal insults. So much maturity on your part.
Pipe Tobacco Premium Member about 10 years ago
REGARDING TROLLS… All I know, is that… sometimes people may be trying to be “trolls” and other times people may be expressing opinions that are negative while not being trolls. Hell… I sometimes express a negative opinion about this and/or other comics. I know am not (nor am I trying to be) a troll. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++That being said…. I have taken the approach towards comments sections of taking everyone’s opinions at face value. I cannot judge a person’s internal motivations (perhaps we can call this their “Troll Intent Potential”). So, for my own health and well being, I PRESUME everyone that comments is interested in discussion about the comic they are referring to. If I feel there comment is something I can contribute to, I do, if not, I do not comment. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++To me… this seems more healthy for me, instead of getting all riled up about comments all the time.

@ReallyBad2-(Again, can’t use the reply function.)-When I ask posters why they continue to read a comic that displeases them, it’s not because I’m unable to ‘defend’ a character (why is that my job, anyway?). It’s because I can’t figure out why someone would continue to do something that seems to displease them.-I read a lot of mysteries, and write some (unsold). When I’m part way through a story, if I find the story to be boring, or the characters to be stereotypes, or one-dimensional, I just stop reading. There are too many books out there to waste time on those that don’t give me any joy.-Life is a lot shorter than most of us suspect. And most of us have to spend a significant portion of our time working on jobs that are less than ideal, but are needed to keep a roof overhead and food in the belly.-For our free time, seems to me that as limited as it often is, it shouldn’t be spent doing something that gives little pleasure.
Argy.Bargy2 about 10 years ago
Hmm. Now the reply function works. Never can tell.-You have your reasons, ok, but the fact remains that, despite your comments, the cartoonist continues on his own path.-Here’s why I will keep asking my question about ‘why do you (meaning anyone who dislikes the viewpoint character, not just you yourself) read this’:-I used to read the mysteries of Kathy Reichs, a forensic anthropologist who teaches at U of North Carolina, works at Quebec’s Laboratoire des Sciences to assist cops researching skeletons that might be murder victims, and whose books served as the inspiration for the TV show ‘Bones’ on Fox.-I had to give it up, despite the fact that Reichs’ background is exactly the type of thing that would normally interest me. I gave up because, in every single book, her viewpoint character (Temperance Brennan) managed to end up as a near-murder victim of the perp whose ‘work’ she was investigating, and at the same time, was discredited by those who should have been supporting her.-It’s too much like those teen slasher-type movies, where you know the monster is in the basement and the kids go there, anyway.-Yeah, Luann isn’t in every strip. But if I was going to pick up a book by Reichs based on the idea that main character Tempe Brennan might not be in every chapter, I still think I’d be wasting my time…

The big difference beteen men and women is that the fun stuff we like to do is actually FUN! Games, go-karts and golf = fun! Shopping, a garden show and a chick flick = death by boredom!
Argythree about 10 years ago
Tomorrow’s strip is already available at ArcaMax and should please a lot of those on this site who’ve been waiting to get back to the arc about Luann and her future. It should also please those who were so worried about poor Brad having to go to a garden show…
