If current trends continue, it will be 350 degrees Fahrenheit below zero at the equator by the year 2050. I had previously predicted 640 degrees Fahrenheit at the equator by the year 2050, but that was back in May. I have new information now.

By 2040 we may gain two states one whose official language is Spanish, and lose five states to Mexico. China will be the economic (hence other) power of the world, and a few years from fighting a war on North American soil.

How’s this for a projection:
IF the sun goes nova, 100% of life on Earth will be destroyed.
So there can be “IF” and 100% projections that are accurate.

Too much science is done in the subjunctive mood nowadays. If, perhaps, possibly, maybe … Beware of so-called science that relies on these.
