Isn’t it strange that a drug that is supposed to be an anti-depressant would list “suicidal thoughts” as a possible side-effect on their TV ads?

    Um…maybe it’s me and I’m missing the point… ;-)

@Coffee-Turtle. You are not missing the point. I take med to reduce the effect of a “vestibular malfunction” (secondary endolymphatic hydrops), every bottle I have or have tried for this issue lists “dizziness” as a side effect.

If one percent (one person out of a hundred) has a side effect, it has to be listed. Aspirin can cause bleeding, benedryl sleepiness, etc. Fen-phen was a great weight loss drug but was pulled because of that inconvenient matter of DEATH. A weight loss drug that works without causing depression is the holy grail of pharmaceuticals.

The anti-ADD pill adds are funnier. I’d rather have a little trouble concentrating than constipation, depression, halucinations, and fifty other side effects.

I love the commercials for something stupid like sinus medicine that then list side effects of liver and kidney failure, Irises turning irreversibly brown, loss of vision, loss of hearing, sudden incontinence, risk of stroke, heart attack, glaucoma and thoughts of suicide resulting from all of the above new conditions for daring to attempt to have clear sinuses.

I’ll suffer with a stuffy nose, thanks.
