Even though Choc drops are okay in the UK, many of us in the USA, especially children, may read the comic and think chocolate is okay for dogs, when it can be very dangerous. Please amend somehow, and keep unfortunate accidents off your doing. Thanks
I’ll admit that every time they mention Choc-Drops I just have to check in and see the inevitable posts by those who didn’t bother to look them up – they’re SAFE FOR DOGS – and somehow I don’t think anyone is going to read this cartoon and then feed their pup a box of Godivas…. ah well…
don’t be so ego-centric to think everyone should know about cho-drops. I am really bothered that many dogs as of now have been given chocolate because of this cartoon and are suffering or dead. Please Michael Martin, man up with some responsibility, not ignorance, and please, please follow up with an amendment to this cartoon.

You can buy specially formulated choc-drops for dogs in the UK. Google it.

Ugh. Yes chocolate is bad for dogs, dark chocolate in large doses. Same with garlic.

But Fred isn’t getting chocolate so settle down.

Fred is NOT getting chocolate. A choc-drop is a British treat for dogs. My guess is that you don’t read Fred Basset very often or you would know this.
