I’m not sure…. I bought 45’s at first.Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper… then Ricky Nelson… the Everly Brothers…. then the greasy-haired Bandstand idols like Bobby Rydell and Fabian…. then the Ronettes and the Crystals…
But the times changed….I saved up and eventually bought the Kingston Trio album with MTA on it, and Peter Paul and Mary’s first album…don’t remember in which order…. But the third album I ever bought was “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan”.Which I listened to over and over till my Dad threatened to break it if I ever played it again while he was home.
My parents gave me a set of 45 rpm records when I was in the 7th grade. Bill Haley, Ricky Nelson, etc. We played “Rock Around the Clock” so many times that y mom’s parrot would say “rock, rock, rock” and dance back and forth on his perch.
I have no idea what album I first purchased. I got rid of all of them when I moved in ’98. I still have lots of CDs and a few cassettes, but seldom listen to music other than to dance.
I open myself up to mockeryBut I think my first record purchase may have been ABBA’a Greatest hit on KTel circa 1972. I saw RUSH for the first time when I was 11 and bought Fly By Night album the next day.
The first one I bought for me was Helen Reddy’s Greatest Hits. The first one that was bought for me was Dr. Fun’s Funhouse from the TV show Pixanne. Now watch Eliot’s head explode.
I think Carol King, I still have it along with the rest of my oldies but goodies. PS- Who doesn’t know what a CD is? The kids still have a lot even if they now listen to the mp3 or whatever and they are 13 and 14.
My first album purchase was actually 2. I bought Black Sabbaths Paranoid and Iron Maidens Number of the Beast. I was quite the little metal head in the 80’s. I had tons of albums I borrowed from my sisters ranging from Iron Butterfly to The Stones. My first concert was ZZ Top Afterburner when I was 14.
beviek I’m not sure because I’ve heard it told both ways. Some say horrible cold and others say mild. If I could have my say, I would vote for no winter. I just hope the fuzzy caterpillar stays warm in his fur coat.

That’ll be like me never hearing of 1983; I was born the year thereafter.
