And the thing is that a Pound Sterling was just that at one time, one pound of silver.

I have often wondered how Mac manages to travel back and forth across the pond with such seeming ease and frequency. Did he make his money the old-fashioned way – inheritance?

1 million = 20 lbs. so 4 lbs. is a little shy of a 1/4 million dollars. So the next tine you see someone run down the street with 10 million dollars in the movies they’re carrying 200 lbs.

Nothing better than a laundry basket full of warm cloths fresh out of the dryer, a glass of milk with a bendie straw. Think I will take a nap!

…and we’re off and running with yet another great misunderstanding…

What if it the cash was being carried off by a swallow?

What we have here… is failure to communicate.

Whenever anyone asked my grandmother if they could bring her back anything while running errands, she always asked for a pound of $20s.

Of course, Mac is referring to the new “decimal pounds”. :)

Shufti?

Didn’t understand “shufti” in the first frame, so I looked it up – it’s British English for a look or a peep and comes from Arabic.

I think that under the old fixed exchange rates a Pound was $2.50. 3M is a little behind the times.
