Holly’s defensive body language is reminiscent of Lady Macbeth: Will these hands never be clean?

Well, that explains it. They don’t only eat eggs but also the partly formed foetuses in the eggs. Essentially, they’re cannibals although they rationalise themselves out of believing that by pretending that different mutant forms are different species (even though the evidence says otherwise).

And I don’t think any reader who has been paying attention will be puzzled over just who is Chic’s father.

From yesterday:.Late in the day – weekend, for that matter – and the new Endtown installment about to be posted, I thought I’d chime in..Other posters have noted that, in general, animals did NOT survive WW III, the “end,” or whatever it is called in this strip..Noted above, a possible exception would be the Endtown rats, which I am not aware of since I haven’t been following this strip that far back..The lack of animals is compounded by another inconvenient fact: So far, in this post-apocalyptic dystopian world, we haven’t seen any plant life, either..Therefore, with no non-human animals, and no plants, just what the sam hill are these creatures eating, anyway?!?.If not eggs, then it must be each other!.Perhaps Piotr was right: The eggs are their ace in the hole!.Back to today:.So far, Aaron hasn’t said much about what these creatures eat – other than the much maligned beans!.Hopefully, we will be getting more “back story” on this world soon!.At this moment, it seems as if everything is crumbling!.Not just Lizard Land!

Chick is the first post apocalypse child we’ve seen? This state of affairs is normal to him. He shouldn’t be horrified by it. Also, isn’t only about 6-8 years since the world went kablooie? Chick is awfully mature for a young kid. Does this mean those born as mutants have the same rate of development and life expectancy as the animals they resemble? Not that Chick’ s life wouldn’t make him grow up faster anyway, but he seems even older.

Which two monsters, er, lizards, are Chic’s parents? The suspense is killing me…

    Eating one’s young…

You know, one thing that’s always disturbed me is the habit of some types of (human) parents’ cooking and eating the placenta of their recently born child. You’ll see this more often amongst the farther Earth types as a rule. I’ve known people that have done this.

I’ve always wondered if the laws against cannibalism might not be being broken in these circumstances,,,

I called it. I’m guessing at the time, the difference between lizard in an egg and bird in an egg was harder to tell. And probably not as “necessary” either. Either way, this place is circling a huge moral and social drain. Only a matter of time.

Jenner, not sure about that Lady MacBeth thing. I think Holly is just being defensive, period. After everything she’s been through, and considering where they are, I’d probably be trying to ball up as well.

Not sure how the discussion of the relative merits of the British Empire evolved…but, re: the disposition of aborted fetuses…for repulsiveness in the Western world, google “SNL” and “Placenta Helper.”
