I was almost expecting Jane to take Sydney to task for letting her dirty clothes accumulate like that, except it would have been sublimely hypocritical. Not that that would stop some parents, who don’t hesitate to chastise their kids even when they themselves are guilty of the same mistakes and misdeeds.
