There is a comic strip elsewhere here at GoComics called NEUROTICA. It features a young Californian woman and her grandfather, a retired self-proclaimed superhero called “Gramps-Man”. Both that strip and this are in re-runs, but it’s interesting to see this scenario getting two different treatments.

Yep. The cartoon character’s delusional fantasies copy those of the cartoonist.
