And Joy is smiling in the second picture because her darling is soooo smart. Dale and Marlene didn’t figure in the coming-back tolls but her man did.Gaaack, urk, cough. excuse me, this strip makes my stomach hurt.
in our area if you have a “toll tag” it is cheaper per trip but if you don’t it could get quiet expensive…..$3.20 per round trip times an average of 20 days a month is $64.00 and THAT is why I drive the back roads.
They think it’s cheap when Burl’s paying, but they should consider… He’s going to be hitting them up for the toll on the way back. And then their tune will change and they will declare that there’s not the same hurry getting home. Burl will sulk. The incident will go into the Penny’s score keeping of who has shorted them in giving.
With 2 couples traveling, the ones not driving should pay the toll. I hope our state never gets tolls; the matter is sometimes discussed. I hated them when I lived in Illinois.
Hate to admit it but we agree w/Burl.Unless we’re in a hurry to get somewhere we take the back roads. Prettier drive and less stress. Was going to say ’why pay NYS any more tax", but then thought darn they tax the heck out of gas too. A no win situation for us as usual.
we’re in Illinois and I personally love the toll roads. why? because the people driving them pay for them. if the toll roads became freeways the state gas tax would have to drastically increase.
Try driving the Skyway into/out-of Chicago during rush hour. Makes you want to stop at Krazy Kaplan’s and load up on all sorts of out-of-state fireworks to use for ‘encouraging’ idiot drivers to behave! Actually we have 1 approx halfway to Chicago in the Burns Harbor/Portage area-you can see it off to the side when you’re on I-94. Quite a selection – just not what I got to play with in the Army…LOL!

Yeah, $3.20 is a really big deal. But, I’d like to find some $0.80 tolls, here they’re a buck and up. The Pennys bring real meaning to their name.
