Husbands also often agree with wives because of a hearing problem and constantly saying “WHAT?” gets rather annoying. So they agree. No idea what they’ve agreed to, but if they just go along later with whatever happens, nobody’s the wiser.
To some eating is a pleasure. To others like Earl it’s just another chore to take care of as quickly as possible to get back to the important tasks at hand. In Earl’s case, that would be napping in the recliner.
People get busy with their thoughts some times. During a really hectic time at work, my wife packed me a sandwich that was 1/2 eggplant parm and 1/2 chicken curry! When I got home she asked how the sandwich was, I said the roast beef sandwich was great. I was so busy that day I had no clue what I was eating. I try not to rush now and be more aware of God’s goodness.
“…..Opal lied about the beef bouillon to trap Earl into agreeing. This was her way of proving he was eating to fast to taste the soup….. "~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~‘eating to fast’ is an oxymoron…..Oh, wait — you meant eating TOO fast!
A husband normally agrees with whatever the wife says to keep the peace & avoid a fight. It happens all the time but in earl’s case it didn’t work out this time.
“Fine, but do yourself a favor, re-read my post where I comment on valid points, although unnecessary, hence, MOOT !”.I fail to see how it would be a favor to myself to reread what you said. I didn’t disagree with what you said but pointed out what he said was interesting and a valid possible alternate explanation..Or as Al S, wisely said:
“But your post is based on your ill-sensed inference. Hence, NOT MOOT !”.(Foghorn Leghorn was a fun character, him and his little chicken hawk buddy.)
“Time to start cutting back on Earl’s portions. He eats way too fast and too much.”.How could Earl be eating too much when he’s thinner than a sheet of paper?
Hard to tell the difference between the two bouillon what with the salt. Her experiment is thus flawed Just try the test blindfolded, same with sodas like colas. Earl needs to eat out more! Donut shops now have soups also

Yes, I can tell that the chicken soup is beefier since you added beef bouillon to it. What precisely was your point?

So, Opal; just why would you want to add beef stock to a chicken dish?.I’m a fast eater but I don’t eat more than anyone else at the table.

Simply agreeing indiscriminately with your wife is a good way to avoid disagreeing with your ex-wife.
