I have always associated BC and the Wizard of Id, but don’t remember which was first. Anybody know?

My sister just put one candle representing each decade on my birthday cake last month, when I had my 50th. I didn’t realize that I’m the same age as the Wizard of Id!

BC was syndicated and had a Dr. Pepper contract before Wiz was launched. Think Johnny Hart was co-creator.

When my grandfather turned 80 we put 80 candles on a normal-sized cake. The individual flames merged into one giant one. In retrospect, not a great idea.
