I gave a small shop-vac to my neighbor because it had a quiet motor; she had a cat that loved to be have her coat vacuumed.

My cat is this way, my old dog was too. Our newest dog is deaf and he doesn’t mind the vacuum at all.

Belle (3 yr old Siamese) likes to ride on mine while I vacuum. This really interferes with getting the different tools off of it. But she loves it so I dont mind.

Cats appear to learn fear of vacuums, my little kitten had no fear at all of it until he saw my older female freak out and run away. Now he is terrified of it.

Nothing like the panic I see when the cat carrier comes out — time for the vet with nail trims and shots in the kitty tookas to be avoided.

That was one advantage to when my old boy went deaf, I could vacuum without it bothering him. RIP, Sweet Will.

Two of ours hide, the third (half Siamese) follows us around, yowling, until she gets vacuumed.

Both of my dogs love to be vacuumed. Really cuts down on the fur! I wouldn’t dare try it on my cats. Twig would shred me.

My cat just gives the vacuum a disgusted look and leaves the room very deliberately.

Jingle will perch on a chair and stare at the vacuum until it comes too close, then move to another perch and continue staring. I wouldn’t say she runs away but she does give the vacuum its bubble of space.
