Originally he had mice tied up there lol.And after Cats didn’t work out Santa tried Dogs, But they kept chasing cars and any wandering Squirrels. And after Dogs Santa tried Pigs but they wouldn’t fly.
Psssst. I think this strip is a repeat. Probably brought out for Cat Herders Day.Herding cats has on positive thing: the quietest stampedes you’ve ever heard.
The Norse goddess Freya rode in a chariot drawn by two cats. I suspect they were fairly large cats, though. Anyway, Santa has been around for awhile. Maybe he got the idea from her. He just didn’t have the right touch.
I like this one; it’s so true. I’ve had a rescue cat for six years now. I like the way he has illustrated each one in it’s own “just doing my thing” typical cat behavior.
Not even Santa could POSSIBLY think he’s get eight cats to go in one direction at any given time, much less on command! Talkin’ goin’ nowhere in a hurry!
Santa forgot the pole with string and feathers to get their attention. Rolf Harris’ “Six White Boomers” (under the Australian sun, because its too warm in December for reindeer.)
This reminds me of another comic (sorry, couldn’t find it on Google; and I can’t remember who drew it) that had the cats laying around with one of them telling Santa, “We’ll get there when we get there.”

OMG: that is terrible. Going back to bed: WAY too early to be able to digest that much cheese.

After yesterday’s strip, I was hoping we would see more Danae. She’s my favorite character.

You think Santa would be smart enough to use a species that stands a chance of being domesticated.

This early R&D project of Santa’s was scrapped because the specimens kept breaking the “no littering” policy.
