I think Elly will be fine on the business end of the job. But John’s head would explode if she told him he needed to buy her new uniforms.

Good for you Elly! This is how marriage is supposed to work.

Buy new ones and charge them to John’s account. Get a few new dresses, slacks and blouses while you’re at it.

Was Elly a nurse before?

If you help him at work, Elly, make sure he helps you at home and do NOT pull double duty!

Lynn’s Notes:

I had assisted Rod when he was in dental school. There was a free clinic in the evenings, and students got extra experience if they volunteered to work on patients after class for free. Spouses often accompanied the students — just so they could spend some time together. University took a toll on relationships. With this bit of training under my belt, I believed I could fill in for a while in our new clinic.

Being as John often makes disparaging remarks about her in public, she’ll probably be sorry.
