Happy birthday QofA!As promised a picture of the new strays who decided to call my porch home.And here’s Poodle Boo testing out the heating pad and comfy bed.We have new neighbors across the lot and with them comes a handsome Tux Cat named Domino, who is uneutered and spends most of his time outside. So naturally he eats at our place often as we feel sorry for him.I guess we are just destined to have 10 cats.
Bucky has been rumbled – my husband Chris was talking to a neighbor yesterday who told him that some other neighbors a few doors down leave food out for Bucky. No wonder he sometimes turns his nose up at the food we give him. Reminds me of a children’s book I saw called Six Dinner Sid, about a neighborhood cat who had six different homes, and none of them knew about the others!
About 25 years ago I woke up to snow in the Santa Monica Mountains of southern California at 3:30 am – I wanted so badly to call all my friends! So hard to resist!
Her documents show that she was born in December 2009, so not knowing the actual day I decided that December 11th would be her ‘Official Birthday’, so she’s 5yo today!
In the early hours of 23rd November 2013, I lost my Persian Cross Lone Ranger to liver failure. It was very sudden with no warning. I found out that Misty needed a new home on 8th December 2013. As I had just also lost my Grey/White Tabby Thomas (6th December 2013) to cancer, my remaining cat (Chico) was on her own and rather unhappy. So the news that a 4yo timid female needed a new home seemed to be heaven sent.I contacted her owner and got the back story, and arranged to see/collect her on the 11th. I had not seen a photo or had a description of her at this time, the first sight I had of her was when I walked into the house.
Keep this in mind when you look at the following picture I put together. Misty is a Birman/Maine Coon cross, Lone Ranger is a Persian/Moggy cross.
Misty’s pictures are top left/bottom right. Lone Ranger’s are top right/bottom left.
1. ty, dream, for the birthday comment.2. Rikkitavi- I LOVE that video. I’m going to try to find it on utube and send to my friends3. more cats than sense – what a lucky kitty! I looked at the pics first and thought it was the same cat until I read the posting.4. we are in Vegas. Brad is off doing cowboy stuff. I don’t expect to see him again til late tonight. If anyone is thinking about a stay at the Monte Carlo, I would encourage you to think twice.
When I took my white cat with a black ‘X’ on his forward to the vets when I first got him, I saw his double sitting on the receptionist’s counter. It seems that she was a stray brought in who had had a litter, and Mua was a stray in the area who was about 6 months old. Approximately the time Swizzle,the female arrived at the vets to become their mascot.Pretty sure it was Mua’s mommy.

So I didn’t know in time to say it then… but here’s a belated “Happy Birthday QueenofAmerica!”

Santa will not let Woof down. Even if Chesney has eaten all the Christmas cookies and drunk all the milk that Annie left out for him…

And now, for something completely different:

Somehow I don’t think Chesney needs catnip for Christmas. He’s wired enough as it is!

@SallyLin
She certainly is, she’s a real sweetie :-)
