The finger issue is interesting, and research doesn’t help much. Some think it is because it is simpler to have four digits instead of five; but, this infers cartoon artists are lazy and I disagree!.A more plausible answer is because a cartoon character’s body parts are, well, “cartoonish”; making a hand look “normal” would be out of context with the rest of the character’s body..Makes sense to me…
