Allosauruses might still be around if they were as smart as Calvin.

Whales aren’t the patient type though.

Calvin: Given your relative positions, one well-placed kick and Moe will be singing soprano in the Vienna Boy’s Choir for the rest of his youth/life. You won’t need to run because he’ll be either unconscious or writhing helplessly on the floor. Either way, your troubles with this troglodyte will be over. Go for it!!

LeadingEdge. I second djc928’s comments above. In addition, Nab has stated his belief that the scientific method in unsupported circular reasoning and religion is supported by rational investigation. Sometimes I suspect he is baiting normal people.

Don’t mind Nab. He’s off his meds again.

I wonder if Calvin would daydream about dinosaurs if he knew that many of them had feathers since some evolved into birds. So instead of giant reptiles they might have looked like giant chickens!

I believe this would be Moe’s last appearance in the comic strip.

T. Sue is more than a few bones and a ribcage.
Vonne Anton about 9 years ago
Facts are bones do not tell a lot of things, such as skin pigment (color, patterns, stripes, polka dots), skin composition (hairy, scaly, feathery, plain); fatty areas, etc. Size and muscle structure can be deduced by bone striations, but that is about it. no one really knows. The artwork is generally a guess based on scientific theory, not knowledge.
You all know I believe in the Bible, but do not support Creationist assumptions either, so there is my bias.
For my real comment: Allosaurs replaced Brontosaurs; now Brontosaurs are back as a specific type. Welcome back Bronties!

I call myself a vague diest. Sort of like ID. I could be right, or I could be wrong. There is no way to know. And I really don’t much give a damn either way.

Time to look for another drinking fountain, Calvin.
Godfreydaniel about 9 years ago
The real controversy here is that Moe called Calvin “twerp” when he usually called him “twinky”!

One of these days they will uncover the one Altruisticsaurus…

I’ve said this at least 50 times and I’ll continue to say it.
Bill Watterson’s drawings of dinosaurs blow me away!

“Only 14% accept the science based Evolution like myself. A distinct minority in this country.”
Just curious since you mentioned it – what country is that? We’re all from different places.
Carl R about 9 years ago
This is simply a debate that comes up pretty much every time there is a dinosaur in one of these strips. No one is going to convince the other side with a comment on a comic strip, so why both sides can’t just drop it and treat it as a comic I don’t know. What Nab said in this case was harmless enough, just that there is a lot we don’t know with 100% certainty, and it easily enough could have just died there without having to delve off into the usually digressions.
romart1 about 9 years ago
For all those who like to get into these debates, I used to have a coffee mug that said: “Those who think they know it all upset those of us who do”.
Carl R about 9 years ago
…and this comic is about neither – it’s actually about bullies. In any case, I would disagree with your statement “religion is about 100% certainty” as a general truth since the only religion that I am aware of that claims men are omniscient is Scientology (which claims we are Thetans, and omniscient). Now, if you were to say that “religion is about interpreting the data in a way consistent with an existing world view”, that I would agree with.
