A surprising lack of self-consciousness for a nude.

Bennet Cerf (remember him) wrote a book of jokes. One day I had an appointment to meet with a fellow at his home. I knocked on the door, and he opened it wearing nothing but a hat. I was shocked, but managed to ask, “Why the hat?” He replied, “Well, you never know when you’ll have company.”

The nude likes his nudeness, but is it not a little bit cold in winter?

If it’s ‘Nude Descending a Staircase’, shouldn’t there be more of him?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nude_Descending_a_Staircase,No.2#mediaviewer/File:Duchamp_-_Nude_DescendingaStaircase.jpg

Calvin’s snowman got those stairs from passers-by.

Interestingly, Calvin’s statement today turned out to be prophetic. Calvin has been gone for nearly 20 years, and he is now speaking to a new generation.

@Thirdguy: How is the winter storm going in Vermont? You should be able to build a really big replica of Calvin’s snow sculpture.

When I was a child my mother was very strict, I was not allowed to see nudes or to say bad words. But sometimes we went to the art museum, there were halls full with painted nudes, she stood there very pious and quiet for a long time and said only, what an excellent art! – I never could u nderstand this!!

@Thirdguy: Good to hear from you. Sorry to hear the bad news. The good news is that you are still on GoComics, so you still have your sense of humor. :>)

Based on the way the snowman is perched at the top of the stairs, shouldn’t it be “Nude Sitting on the Stairs”?

@iammu: I often enjoy the reruns more than many of the current strips. And every year, it seems like there are more reruns available than the year before. :>)

I was watching a reporter standing in some New England snow this morning, and I am not going to belittle the situation for those trapped because of the weather..I was standing at the window, looking out over our pretty much barren ground in Minnesota when he remarked, “The entire nation is locked down because of this storm!”.Apparently, when you live on the East Coast there is nothing but desolation west of you…

Love Calvin’s anatomically correct snowmen. Too bad he’s not making them on the White House lawn.

My aunt was babysitting her three grandsons, years ago, and noticed that people passing by on the sidewalk were smiling and pointing at the snowmen the boys had built earlier in the day. Yep. Anatomically correct they were!
