Don’t people have better things to do with their time than get obsessed about a teen-age bag boy at Targét?Sounds slightly perverted.

Thanks for the link, lwp; I’m one of those seniors who never heard of this. The disturbing part is his family having received death threats. My father was right, and that was 40 years ago: this country has become ungovernable. But we are exceptional. Not sure that’s a good thing.

“Exceptional means better at something regardless of what it is. ".Nah, it simply means unlike most others..: not usual : unusual or uncommon

: unusually good : much better than average (This is the usage you favor.)

: mentally or physically disabled (This was used as a means of not calling people retarded or morons, and is actually more accurate since some simply have emotional problems without being stupid, nonetheless, as people saw the ones it was applied to, it came to mean what it replaced in the minds of many.)

" it shows Trudy is down with the kids and their Star Trek stuff.".Wouldn’t that be Star Wars?

There’s a heartwarming story over here about a fundraiser for a disabled crime victim that has gone viral:http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/donations-pour-disabled-man-attacked-mugger-article-1.2099507I can;t help fearing that the next step will be that the girl who did the fundraising will start getting trolled, and that the victim will start getting begging letters. In another part of the interview the girl says that the publicity has been good, but that she has found it “tiring”. The propensity of the traditional media to eat people up and spit them out seems to be intensified tenfold by social media.

To all the posters who thanked me, I’m glad I was able to help. I find it quite upsetting how technology has made the world shallow and intruded into the private lives of ordinary people.Alex originally enjoyed the attention but then, he and his family saw the dark side. Social Media makes you vulnerable to compete strangers.
