I knew a guy who had his hip replaced. They do each side separately so you aren’t completely immobilized, but it has to suck going through all that pain and recovery just to do it all again 6 months later.

Before surgery now the doc or a nurse puts an X on the side to be operated on.Not exactly confidence-inducing but it does result in less screw-ups.

Once he gets home, he has some ‘splainin’ to do about his anesthesia-induced Linda confession.

I have to agree as I have had both knees replaced within two years and was one of the best things I had done. I can walk with no pain now.

I’m starting to wonder if the name of the hospital (St. Excruciation) was part of Ralph’s dream too.

Wow! I sure didn’t. Had a lot of time from having the hip surgery till I was able to go from my walker to my cane.

Three nights and out for me. Rehab started the day after surgery. Had to pass a test of walking up and down three steps (assisted) before they would release you. Had no “drains” at all, whatever they are. Definitely not a piece of cake, but was driving a car by myself 6 weeks after surgery. Amazing.
