Random thought. (No one who choses to read it should complain):I once saw an interesting Brit. use of ‘ilk’. When dealing with lordly titles, to avoid saying things like ‘Lord Butterbutt of Butterbutt’, they will say ‘Lord Butterbutt of that Ilk’.
(Oh, there’s a good example of why I hate the sans-serif capital I which can’t be discerned from the lowercase l. Even worse is Chicago, Ill, which looks like Chicago the Third…. OK, so it’s random thoughts, plural.)
I have a small English dictionary (printed before the internets) ILK, ilk, (a) same – of the same name, place, or designation.Agnes has others of her ilk. Perhaps, together, they can build a better mouse trap. ….. And then let the mouse go because they are all of the same ilk.Random Thought on postal issues – PE or PEI? At least Rhode Island is two letters. But Prince Edward Island deserves the full PEI>

Actually it’s a scary thought that there are others of Agnes’ ilk and she wishes to mobilize them.
