Lime Light appears to be a brain-damaged Gomer Pyle with hideously deformed arms.

He also looks a little bit “light in the loafers,” as they say. I suppose Locher, ever the paragon of enlightenment, is drawing this character as ambiguously gay because he’s involved in the theatrical arts.

Shadows with luminescent teeth are never up to any good.

I think “We’ll be nothing but great” is connected to “Nothing is too good for you Dick Tracy”.

Nothing-wise, that is.

Hmmm….I wonder if Limelight will turn out to be the yet to be shown villain’s thug. And why the heck is a play being held in a science museum? Why would a science museum have theater curtains?

yes a recreation of the old case of Pigface and his getaway driver/ henchman Wheels !!

Pigface (so called because of his ugly nose and habit of saying oink after everyother word) a down and out ham actor, robbed the Porknbeans national bank of 10,000 dollars and tried to flee with Tracy in hot pursuit, along the way he bumped off his wife Sally Sow and diminutive oriental partner Pork chop (in a sausage factory!). Not wanting to become a Pig in a poke the crook tried to steal an airplane without knowing how to pilot it… he accidentally did a barrel roll trying to dislodge Tracy who was clinging to the wing and at the last second realized he hadn’t fastened his seat belt…falling to his death and proving once and for all that Pigs can’t fly !

Why did Mr. and Mrs. Light decide to name their baby son “Lime”?

Here’s the real upside to this strip; I;m going on a 7 day Mexico cruise, will be away from computer for 8-10 days. NOTHING will have happened in the interim.

Maybe the original case took place in a science museum. Or not.

Perhaps the curtains are there for unveiling new exhibits that they don’t want people to see ahead of time. Or not.

This may be an old play, but maybe it’s going to have a new ending. Or not.

Two of the best neighbors I ever had were a gay Couple Both students and professionals , well mannered and minded their own business never had any problem borrowing a cup of sugar or being invited to their place for dinner on occasion with my then Girlfriend

all around nice folks … what they did together was and is their business and none of mine.

what a difference from the neighbors on the other side who played their music loud at all hours, lounged in the yard in their I’m a rebel T shirts and guzzling one cheap beer after another and tossing the cans wherever gravity took them and not once ever ever making any of their four dirty kids mind.
