I can relate. I never was able to do long division by hand. Understood how I was supposed to do it, but for some reason was never able to do it right in practice, because I was always getting those problems marked wrong…thank heavens I can just use a calculator now.
I could do 2s, 3s, 7s and 9s. Dad taught me to cheat a little on 7s by looking at a calendar. the progression of 9s fascinated me. But that was about the only part of math I ever liked.

9s are cool. I know a neat visual trick to multiplying 9s, but am not sure how to describe it.
