    Quick head math 100*C = 212*F. So 35*C x 9/5 = 9×7 =63. so around 275.

You must have forgotten the +32 at the end.

You forgot to add the 32 to the 253, other than that you would be correct. 9/5 x C+32 = F5/9 x (F -32) = CConvert C to F just follow the rules of Mathematics, but Converting F to C you have to remember to subtract the 32 before you multiply.

You guys are so old fashioned.

Modern way: Type “135c in f” in Google.275.

    Way faster than math.

Of course, my method does lead to brain atrophy….

so I have no idea what Arlo is doing with that sideways gesture. Anybody?

Eirik… thanks… that was actually my first impression.

But he has a phone in his hand, not an 8-ball… so I was puzzled.

I guess he’s just being funny cos he can’t go on the web with his old phone?

    Sigh……

The math I see here is making my oranges crash. Perhaps the phone is telling him to check his email, you know, Outlook.

What is he cooking, bread or meat? Bread is usually baked at 350, sliced ham may be heated up at 275.

I have a thermometer with both systems marked on it. Problem solved. As for the metric temperature system, there are more numbers between 32 (freezing) and 212 (boiling) than there are between 0 and 100. Our system is more precise.(That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.)

275˚ F, I checked the conversion feature on my Mac’s Dashboard. I didn’t have to change pages or log in to another site.

C=F-32/1.8 That’s the formula unless you have a thermometer with both scales.

When using a temperature scale is it better to get a “C” or an “F”. And can anyone appreciate a gradation of “K”?

I have a funny story about a French woman who was making a French pastry in a Canadian made oven that did not have celsius. Might make for a funny storyline in this strip (?)

“Only scientists appreciate Kelvin” That’s sad. Kelvin told a great story and did great BBQ and mixed drinks.

“It is from 135 Centigrade.”.Or Celsius, the official name, but you are right that I shouldn’t have called it Fahrenheit, especially since I was going to Fahrenheit..No sweat, I’ll fix it.

    And then there’s the Celsius to Kelvin to Rankine to Fahrenheit method:135 + 273 = 408 KelvinDoubled 816Less 10% or about 82

    734 RankineLess 459 Rankine at 0 degrees Fahrenheit275 Fahrenheit
